SnapNote

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

SnapNote (“the app”, “we”) is a personal note-taking app. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Who we are

SnapNote is published by Ylen Solutions AB (Org.nr 559569-4380), a company registered in Sweden, which is the data controller for your personal data. For any privacy question, contact us at [email protected].

What data the app handles

Your notes (chats, pages, folders, tags, and any images or files you attach). These are created by you and stored locally on your device. They are never sent anywhere unless you sign in and use cloud backup (see below).

Account information (only if you choose to sign in). To back up your notes across devices you may sign in with an email one-time code or with Google. In that case we process your email address and, for Google sign-in, the basic account identifier Google returns. Authentication is handled by our backend provider, Supabase.

Cloud backup content (only if you sign in and tap “Back up”). When you choose to back up, a copy of your notes is uploaded to your private, per-user storage. Each user can only read or write their own data. We do not access, sell, or share your note content.

Anonymous usage analytics (off by default — opt-in). To understand how the app is used, SnapNote can collect anonymous usage data — but only if you turn it on. It is off by default; on first run we ask whether you’d like to enable it, and you can change your mind anytime in Settings → Privacy. Legal basis: your consent. When enabled, it collects:

Anonymous crash reports (on by default — opt-out). To keep the app stable we collect anonymous crash and error reports: the error type and a short technical message only. This is on by default under our legitimate interest in a working, secure app, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings → Privacy. It never includes note or message content, and these diagnostic events are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Every analytics and crash event is tagged only with a random install identifier that is not linked to your account or any device identifier, plus the app version, platform, and language. No event ever includes note or message content, titles, names, email, or any other personal data.

What we do NOT do

Data security

Data in transit is protected with HTTPS/TLS. On your device, your login session tokens are stored in the operating system’s secure keystore. Backed-up data is stored with per-user access controls so only you can reach it.

Data retention and deletion

Local notes remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. If you use cloud backup, you can delete your backed-up data and your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone → Delete data & account, which permanently removes your account and all backed-up rows. You may also request deletion by emailing [email protected]. Anonymous diagnostic events are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Children

SnapNote is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
